Bay of Fires Bush Retreat – A Glamping Paradise
Bay of Fires Bush Retreat has got the essence of Glamping down to a tee. It’s located in a prime location between the township of St Helens and the Bay of Fires Nature Reserve so I stopped of here for the night on my way from Hobart to Launceston.
This little slice of paradise is both rustic and luxury all rolled into one. With 6 sloops set up and designed to your comfort, plus a family room and one couples room in the main building. Tom and Anna have thought of EVERYTHING! From the elegant yet simple finishing’s to the hot water bottles by your bed and your own jar of marshmallows to toast in the fire that night.
The main kitchen, bar and living area is an open spaced plan surrounded by multiple fire pits. There’s a huge and fully furnished kitchen including a BBQ and BBQ fire pit for your use. They also offer a dinner platter with fresh Tasmanian produce and a few different breakfast options to be cooked for you if you wish. Tom is a great cook, I’d recommend getting the dinner platter if anything.
You can BYO drinks but there’s also a self-serve bar running on the honesty system if you don’t have any with you. The bathrooms are clean and rustic, with hot water and ample space to store your dry clothes when showering… no more worrying about your fresh clothes falling on the wet floor! All of the guests spent the afternoon sitting on the deck looking out over the forest, chatting with wine and cheese – what more could you want?
I felt very at home Glamping here at the retreat and spent a few hours editing on the deck with a bottle of wine. I got taught how to use a drone by one of Tom and Anna’s friends and spent the night chatting to other couples around the campfire. All before heading to bed with my hot water bottle, absolute heaven. I wish I could have stayed longer!
Wonderland Escapes was a guest at Bay of Fires Bush Retreat, and as always my opinion is of my own. If you know of any other unique places to stay in Tasmania please comment below! x
